problem restoring a windows partition...

I have backed up my windows partition without problem but when it came time to restore it, it copied back the image but when I boot, I get a blinking cursor..I wonder if I should've backed up the the partition table too...when I open gparted I can see the partition with the partition type which is ntfs...am I missing something?.. I appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction
