Image Bigger than Size used

I have an interesting problem. I have i machine with an 80 gig drive with about 2.85 gigs used. It is an NTFS Windows XP machine. When I go to make the image, it makes an image that is 7.79 GIG! I ran chkdsk and it said something about something allotted wrong, so I thought it fixed it, but NOW it is even bigger, like 8.53 gig. It says the bitmap is 2.85 or whatever, but the image it makes is much bigger. Anyhelp?

Some PCs are shipped with hidden restore/diagnostic partitions. Maybe your image is including one of those. You could find out for sure, by doing a test restore. You should test the quality of your image in any case.
