problems using partimage

i have a backup file which has no extension and is placed in my usb drive
(/dev/sdb1).
i want to restore the file to ext3 partition(/dev/sda2).

i am using a system rescue live cd.I run partimage .

BUT the problem is that i dont know how to use the partimage GUI.and how to specify the link to the backup file!..

i have tried a lot of tuturials from past many weeks...please help...i am badly stuck!:S

Please check the partimage manual. The link is at the top of this page.

Remember partimage is for saving and restoring entire partitions. Use other things to save/restore individual files. Partimage takes a snapshot of the entire partition, but you can't add incrementally to it; only make a new snapshot of the entire partition. Very useful for some purposes. Outside these parameters, other things are better.
